  Summary:

Colorado Springs City Charter Art. III, §§ 3-10(e) and 4-40(f) the City Attorney is appointed by the Mayor subject to confirmation by the Council by a concurring vote of a majority of its members. By ordinance, City Attorney's duties, tenure, and compensation are established.

 

  Background: 

Wynetta Massey, who was appointed Colorado Springs City Attorney effective April 9, 2014, retired from the City effective in July 2025.

The position of City Attorney was posted to solicit applicants from November 20, 2025, to January 09, 2026. Stefanie Boster applied to be considered for the position as City Attorney in response to the City’s posting.

  Previous Council Action:

There has been no previous Council action with regard to appointment of Stefanie Boster as City Attorney.

 

  Financial Implications:

Stefanie Boster’s initial annual salary is set at $275,000, and all applicable employment benefits will be provided. City Attorney's duties, tenure, and compensation are established through official city ordinances.
