  Summary:

The salary range for the City Attorney, City Council Administrator, and City Auditor are included in the annual salary schedule, which is approved by ordinance. City Charter
§ 13-80 and City Code § 1.2.203 require the annual salary of the City Attorney to be prescribed by Ordinance. City Charter § 3-10(e) requires the annual salary of the City Council Administrator be prescribed by ordinance. City Charter § 3-10(e) and City Code § 1.2.203 require the annual salary of the City Auditor be prescribed by ordinance.

 

  Background: 

City Council approved Ordinance No. 23-12 on March 17, 2023, which set the salaries of the City Attorney, City Council Administrator, and City Auditor. This ordinance would repeal Ordinance No. 23-12 to increase the salaries of the City Attorney, City Council Administrator, and City Auditor effective December 24, 2023. The salaries would be amended as follows:

  Previous Council Action:

Ordinance No. 23-12 titled “An Ordinance Repealing Ordinance Nos. 21-116 And 22-27, And Amending Section 3 Of Ordinance No. 14-20 (An Ordinance Confirming The Mayor’s Appointment Of The City Attorney And Setting The Salary Of The City Attorney), And Section 3 Of 18-120 (An Ordinance Appointing The City Council Administrator And Setting The Salary Of The City Council Administrator), And Prescribing The Salaries Of The City Attorney, City Auditor, And City Council Administrator” was approved by City Council on March 17, 2023.

 

  Financial Implications:

The City Attorney’s Salary will increase by $4,559 annually beginning December 24, 2023. The City Council Administrator’s salary will increase by $6,121 annually beginning December 24, 2023. The City Auditor’s salary will increase by $4,906 annually beginning December 24, 2023.
