Summary:
Colorado Springs Utilities has reached agreement on a proposed addendum to the 2022 IGA between Colorado Springs Utilities and Pueblo Board of Water Works.
Background:
Requesting approval of an addendum to the 2022 IGA between Colorado Springs Utilities and PBWW regarding partnership to conduct feasibility studies of a potential future expansion of PBWW owned Clear Creek Reservoir near Granite, CO. Addendum clarifies respective rights and obligations of the parties. The associated resolution authorizes additional IGA addendums to be executed by Springs Utilities Chief Executive Officer without requiring approval by Utilities Board or City Council.
Previous Council Action:
City Council executed original IGA in November 2022
Financial Implications:
Springs Utilities will cost share with PBWW for the reservoir expansion project expenses, including feasibility studies and property acquisition. Springs Utilities estimated contribution is about $500,000 for feasibility studies and about $1,500,000 for property.
City Council Appointed Board/Commission/Committee Recommendation:
The Utilities Board recommended bringing the Addendum to the 2022 IGA to City Council for consideration.
