The RetoolCOS project proposes repealing and replacing the current City Code Chapter 7.
Goals of the project include -
• Repeal and replace current Chapter 7 to fully support the vision and goals of PlanCOS.
• Create more opportunities for property and business owners.
• Improve the City’s development standards to require better design and encourage more creative projects.
• Restructure and refine current regulations to make them more intuitive and user-friendly.

Background:
The intent of today’s meeting is for project staff to provide updated information to the Planning Commission describing next steps for the October hearing and allow participants to provide public comment.
Next steps include -
• Based off of comments that have been received and anything that warrants changes in this hearing, Staff will revise the current Final Draft for presentation at a special hearing in October to the Planning Commission.
• At the October meeting, the Planning Commission will propose a recommendation to the City Council. Any requested changes to the draft text from the meeting, will be compiled in a memo to the Council.
• In November, the City Council will review the revised Final Draft and memo in a public hearing with the final vote for adoption of the Unified Development Code (UDC).
