Title
Ordinance No. 14-91 amending Ordinance 02-101 pertaining to the composition of the Citizens' Transportation Advisory Board
Body
From:
Eileen Lynch Gonzalez, City Council Administrator
Summary:
The amended ordinance replaces an obsolete reference to the City Manager and calls for six of the eleven CTAB members to represent the six City Council districts, with the remaining five members being at-large members.
Previous Council Action:
City Council adopted Ordinance 02-101 creating the CTAB on June 11, 2002. Since its creation, Council has appointed committees of the CTAB to include the Bicycle Advisory Committee (Resolution 83-09); the Active Transportation Advisory Committee (Resolution 132-13); the Public Communications Subcommittee (Resolution 54-03); and the Trucking Issues Subcommittee (Resolution 60-03). Council also authorized the CTAB to advise City Council on drainage matters as requested.
Background:
Ordinance 02-101 currently calls for eleven regular CTAB members representing the four City Council districts, and made reference to the CTAB's role in advising the City Council and City Manager. To better reflect the current form of government and composition of City Council, the proposed amendment replaces the reference to the City Manager with "city administration," to reflect the CTAB's role in advising public works, transit, and other operations staff of the City. It also calls for six of the CTAB members to represent the six City Council districts, with the remaining five members being at-large members.
