Summary:
The proposed ordinance modifies City Code Section 7.7.1102.B (Specific Requirements Prior to Building Permit Issuance, Utilities) by striking two words regarding payment of all utility development charges, recovery agreement charges and all other Utilities charges associated with the building permit process. Colorado Springs Utilities is requesting to strike the words "in cash" in order to formalize the acceptance of other forms of payment. The full language of the ordinance is attached.
Previous Council Action:
Staff presented the details of the proposal to City Council at the work session on April 9th and was directed to add this to the consent calendar for the April 24th public hearing.
On April 24, 2018, this Ordinance was approved on first reading on the Consent Calendar.
Background:
Colorado Springs Utilities has requested an amendment to City Code Section 7.7.1102.B regarding payment of Utilities charges prior to issuance of building permits. The request is to strike the words "in cash" to allow a customer to choose the best payment option that meets their business needs.
