This is an informational briefing by Ms. Devore regarding the plan by Colorado Springs Utilities with oversight by the Air Pollution Control Division (APCD) of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to model the air quality impacts of the Drake Power Plant’s sulfur dioxide emissions.

Background:
Members of the public have expressed concerns with the impact of the Drake Plant’s sulfur dioxide on air quality in Colorado Springs. For the past year and a half, Utilities has been cooperating with the APCD in gathering necessary meteorological data in preparation for modeling such impacts. The modeling is scheduled for the first half of 2017. The presentation will include background information on air quality in Colorado Springs and a discussion of the schedule for the modeling effort.
