Summary:
City Charter Article III, Section 3-10(e) and City Code Section 1.2.203 require that the salary of the City Council Administrator be prescribed by ordinance.
The proposed Ordinance would amend Section 2 of Ordinance No. 15-53, which had prescribed the annual salary of the City Council Administrator, Eileen Lynch Gonzalez, at $87,781.54, together with applicable benefits commencing on April 7, 2015, and prescribe the new annual salary of the City Council Administrator commencing January 1, 2017 at $88,659.35, together with applicable benefits.
Previous Council Action:
Pursuant to City Ordinance No. 15-53, the annual salary of the City Council Administrator, Eileen Lynch Gonzalez, was set at $87,781.54, together with applicable benefits, commencing April 7, 2015.
Background:
The proposed salary is within the range for City Council Administrator as established by City Ordinance No. 16-112, regarding the 2017 salary structure for civilian and sworn municipal employees.
The ordinance establishes the effective date of the salary increase as retroactive to January 1, 2017, which is the date on which other City employee salary increases commenced.
Financial Implications:
The salary increase is $877.81 annually for the City Council Administrator.
